Punjab CM, Deputy CM to Lead Delegation to Call on Prime Minister on 26th August

Punjab News (Mera Chandigarh): Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal have decided to jointly lead a high powered delegation of SAD-BJP MPs and MLAs to Delhi to call on Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on 26th August.

Punjab News (Mera Chandigarh): Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal have decided to jointly lead a high powered delegation of SAD-BJP MPs and MLAs to Delhi to call on Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on 26th August.

According to information, the delegation of SAD-BJP MPs and MLAs of Punjab during their visits to New Delhi would also meet Union Agricultural Minister Sharad Pawar for seeking a special package and higher MSP of Paddy in view of severe drought conditions in the Punjab State to save the beleaguered farmers.

t is to remember that the Centre had announced an increase of Rs 100 (per quintal) in the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy on 20th August for the fiscal year against the Punjab government wishes to have an increase in MSP by Rs.300 per quintal that had become a matter of great concern for the Punjab farmers as well as for the government.
