Bhupinder Singh Hooda Cares Orphan Daughter of Ex-Servicemen
Chandigarh (Mera Chandigarh):- The State Government has decided to enhance financial assistance being given at the time of marriage of orphan daughter of ex-servicemen from Rs. 21,000 to Rs. 51,000 and it was already providing many other incentives and facilities to the serving personnels,ex-servicemen, war widows, and their dependents.
Chandigarh (Mera Chandigarh):- The State Government of Haryana has decided to enhance financial assistance being given at the time of marriage of orphan daughter of ex-servicemen from Rs. 21,000 to Rs. 51,000 and it was already providing many other incentives and facilities to the serving personnels,ex-servicemen, war widows, and their dependents.
Hooda was speaking at the 28th meeting of Kendriya Sainik Board in New Delhi on Wednesday which was presided over by Union Defence Minister, Mr A.K. Antony.
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has suggested that widows of ex-servicemen, who had also served the State Government's Civil Service after retirement, should be allowed to receive both the pensions that is military pension as well as State Government's civil pension after the demise of such ex-servicemen as it was necessary to give them this incentive keeping in view the cost of living now-a-days.
The Government has reserved five per cent posts for ex-servicemen in class A and B categories and 14 per cent in C and D categories. The Haryana Government has given employment to more than 5,000 ex-servicemen as meter readers with the power utilities through Haryana Ex-services League and 1210 ex-servicemen or dependents have been appointed in various Departments and Public Sector Undertakings during the year 2008.
The State Government has already enhanced the financial assistance being given at the time of marriage of the daughters of war widows from Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 21,000 and 100 per cent war disabled ex-servicemen. The financial assistance given at the time of marriage of daughters of widows of ex-servicemen has also been raised from Rs. 5100 to Rs.11, 000.
Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) would develop Defence Colonies at Rohtak, Jhajjar, Rewari, Hisar, Jind, Narnaul,Bahadurgarh Karnal and Dadri exclusively for ex-servicemen, widows of ex-servicemen and serving defence personnel.
