Chandigarh (Mera Chandigarh): The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday gave green signal to the allotment of flats under a special scheme launched by the Chandigarh Housing Board for UT administration employees by disposing of a bunch of petitions.

Chandigarh (Mera Chandigarh): The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday gave green signal to the allotment of flats under a special scheme launched by the Chandigarh Housing Board for UT administration employees by disposing of a bunch of petitions.

It is to mention that Chandigarh Housing Board had introduced the self-finance housing scheme in January, 2008, but it immediately came under the high court scanner, with bunch of petitions being filed, challenging the scheme on different grounds, including eligiblility criteria.

Thereafter, the high court stayed the scheme and finally, reserved its orders in October last. The board had received 6,450 applications for the scheme.
