Chandigarh (Mera Chandigarh) Congress Candidate from Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency is leading in Chandigarh by 16326 votes.

It is to mention that Chandigarh has witnessed one long month political campaigning, the action pack drama of Indian democracy had shown its all flavour, from money to liquor with religion as special appearance.
The counting of votes started and Chandigarh is waiting to know the name of its representatives in Indian Parliament called Lok Sabha.
In Lok Sabha Elections 2009, there were 14 candidates who had contested elections from Chandigarh Parliamentary constituency which were as follows:
1. Ajay Goyal, Independent Candidate
2. Darshan Singh, Independent Candidate
3. Des Raj, Independent Candidate
4. Goswami Vishwa Bhushan Bharti , Independent candidate
5. Harmohan Dhawan , BSP candidate
6. Hafiz-Anwar-ul-Haq, RJD candidate
7. Kafil Ahmed , Independent candidate
8. Khem Lal Bansal, Independent candidate
9. Maya Devi, Independent candidate
10. Paras Nath, Independent candidate
11. Pawan Kumar Bansal, Congress candidate
12. Ram Pal Hans, Independent candidate
13. Satya Pal Jain,BJP candidate
